Hood developed to eliminate the tendency most firefighting hoods have of the bottom of the elasticized face opening pulling down off the SCBA mask gasket, creating a gap, when the head is tilted back to look overhead. Cobra^™ Elite Pro eliminates this problem by reducing excess fabric between the base of the neck and the chin, allowing the hood to better interface with turnout coat collars by enabling the hood to slide up at the base of the neck when tilting the head back and hood is worn underneath turnout coat with collar cinched snug, rather than locking it down at the collar as current hoods do. In addition, the bib width was redesigned so that shoulder straps for SCBA frame harness systems won’t lock down the outside of the bib, which could cause the elasticized face opening to pull away from the sides of the SCBA mask, again creating a gap, when turning your head to the left or right.
